Valery Anfimov's book "Visiting Eternity" (written in Russian) examines the relation of modern man to his ancestors and the cultural heritage of humanity. Based on the legend of Anfimovs family, the author in a fascinating form of historical narrative, follows the link of Byzantine architects and iconographers with their distant descendants in modern Russia and the World. The central figure in the narrative is Anthemius of Tralles, the legendary Byzantine architect and geometer, who together with Isidore of Miletus designed and built Hagia Sophia for Justinian I.
